The lighthouse was built in 1843 and since 2004 is classified among the cultural heritage sites under the surveillance of Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Protection.
The project aims to carry out the renovation and seismic/structural enhancement of the existing building.
The project Valore Paese Fari of the Italian Agency for State Property (Agenzia del Demanio) aims at restoring and requalifying the State’s lighthouse network. Given the beauty and prestige of the locations, these buildings can be renovated as tourist destinations and museum, respecting the ecosystems in which they are enclosed, some of the most extraordinary coastal landscapes in Italy.
