Renovation and seismic retrofitting of an existing heritage building to be allocated as a kindergarten

The project consists of the renovation of the historical heritage (built in 1925) property located in Atena Lucana Scalo, in order to turn it into a school building, in particular with nursery school at ground floor and Kindergarten and first floor.
One constraint of the architectural project was maintaining the external appearance of the building.
Inside the building, the necessary space to accommodate the kindergarten and canteen was identified on the ground floor while the first floor was designated for elementary school classrooms.
Seismic verification of the building was carried out using the "push-over" analysis with the purpose of assessing the safety of the building following seismic improvement work.
