The assignment involved the seismic vulnerability assessment of 11 school buildings in the Municipality of Forlì.
The structural types treated included masonry buildings, steel buildings, buildings with prefabricated beams and pillars or load-bearing panels.
Depending on the type of structure, Linear Dynamic Analysis and Non-linear Static Analysis methods were used to evaluate the safety level for human lives.
The assignment also included the evaluation of the main options for the seismic upgrading/retrofit with relatively rough estimate of costs.
